5 February 2006 - Devonport / Sheffield / Gunns Plains / Riana / Ulverstone Great day with the big turn out of about 14 Torana's. We met at Maccas in Devonport and then headed to Sheffield and back through Gunns Plains, Riana and back to Ulverstone for a BBQ. We also stopped off at Wings Wild Life Park for the kids & big kids to enjoy. Rod brought the A9X Holden promo hatch along however headed home at Spreyton as one of his sender units in the dash burnt out & he was a bit anxious about a fire (don't know why Rod!!!). This was an excellent run so we're looking at having this as a regular each year. (Click on the pic to enlarge)

26 October - Symmons Plains day with Sydney & ACT / QBN Torana Clubs During October, members of the Sydney & ACT / QBN Torana Clubs toured the state and as part of their trip they booked the race track for the day. It was a Thursday, so not many of our Tassie crew were able to attend but Brad & Deb (XU1), Ron (XU1) & Eagle, Eagle jnr + jnr jnr (SLR5000) were there and Les caught some of the action of film. It was a good day, although very windy. The most disappointing aspect was we could only use half the track (back straight to the end of pit straight) as new barriers were being erected along the main straight in preparation for the V8 Supercars. Still we had fun. The only real casualty on the day was yours truly with the clutch letting go in the SLR. Thanks to Bruce & the boys I was able to limp the 150ks or so home. A new Exedy race clutch has since been fitted! A few of us were able to show the visitors around our state and we had a great time. 17 December - Christmas Hoon Run - Burnie to Latrobe This run was organised at short notice so there weren't a lot who turned up. Attendees - Brad & Deb (XU1), David (SS), Steve (black SLR), Eagle + Eagle jnr & Eagle jnr jnr (Aqua SLR). PJ (Mandarin Red SS) put in an appearance at the start but was unable to go. Grun also joined in with his tough BB powered '56 Chev. It was a good cruise through all the main local hoon hang outs between Burnie and Latrobe. The law were also out in force and we did attract a few looks but we left alone. How I don't really know as Steve hooked up the Group C exhaust on his SLR and it was LOUD! One of traffic cop nearly got whiplash as we thundered past him at Sulphur Creek but he was busy booking someone at the time. Steve later said, "I saw him but thought if I didn't look straight at him, he wouldn't pull me over". (Click on the pics to enlarge)
